ABOUT THE MAN

This is an online journal of a man who cherish passion for cities, their different vibes, their diversities, colors, smell, locations etc. “Visiting at least one city in every country in the world” – What a thought!?. I have never been in Kyoto. So why Kyoto?

While I was thinking about website’s name, I was thinking about cities and their traits, people who live there and what makes them different. At some point, I noticed I am wearing a t-shirt with a print on it saying “Kyoto”. And voila! I am a man in Kyoto, literally! It was there the whole time! Also, Kyoto as an old city with its rich history and everything that it was and it now, represents an intersection of spirits of many cities in the world. The same thing, taking different points in time, we can say about Paris, New York or Istanbul etc.

Eventually, this website is the reflection of my thoughts and feelings about cities around the world and their spirits, through music, film, photography, culture, literature, poetry… and people.

However, Kyoto is somewhere right on the opposite side of the planet Earth of where I live. Taking in account all its differences in location, history, culture… in some sense, it represents an “upside-down” world for me and my hometown but also a tribute to all cities in the world with all their traits they are carrying throughout time. This website is about Kyoto but also about Paris, New York, New Orleans, Berlin, London etc.
