Epic drama set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.
It’s been more that 20 years since Peter Jackson’s “Fellowship of the ring” came out. I still remember how me and all my friends were obsessed with it. Me myself watched that first part of the trilogy more then 10 times. I feel I knew every single line of the movie.
Later on, when the first “Harry Potter” came out, younger generations liked it more them “The lord of the rings” trilogy. So even though I will always put “The lord of the rings” at the first place, I realised that nothing lasts forever and that people are very much biased when it’s up to their taste in movies, music etc. Also, taking in account the popularity and success reached by the trilogy, the directors put a huge task upon them selves when they decided to make this series.
However, it is hard to compare a movie and a series. Maybe it would be better to compare “The Rings of Power” with for example “Game of Thrones” series. And in that game, “The Rings…” are the one who lose. Everything that is related to technology and production here is just perfect. Costumes and scenography are wonderful! The series looks amazing! But something is missing in the story and acting. Sadly but I have to admit that the acting is not the best one. Also, the story gets a bit boring in certain moments and it seems it copy the trilogy too much in certain scenes. But overall, the ladder is set very high and this is a good series that I can recommend.
